Learn more about the Visual Identity of BFF 2024

THE FESTIVAL'S VISUAL IDENTITY DRAWS ON THE HISTORY AND POWER OF THE UNITED KINGDOM IN AN UNOBVIOUS WAY. THERE IS A POWER OF SYMBOLS HIDDEN IN ITS CORNERS - GET TO KNOW THEM!

The designers of the festival's visual identity faced a difficult task: how to symbolically represent the theme of the event without falling into banal associations? How to avoid a literal depiction of symbols from the flags of individual countries, references to the Queen or the eternally rainy weather on the Isles? How to engage in a modern, fresh dialogue with the cinema goer, who will be at the Muza Cinema in November?

The starting point for its creation was the zero meridian passing through the London Borough of Greenwich.

For centuries, Britain has been called ‘the empire over which the sun never sets’, as its influence and colonial conquests spread across the globe.

Just as the zero meridian marks out time zones, individual meridians mark out successive pieces of the globe that were culturally influenced by the United Kingdom. These influences can still be seen today in world culture and cinema.

It is safe to say that there is no point on the world map that is not susceptible to British influence. Sometimes there was a dark, bloody, political history behind this influence. All these shades will be discussed at the festival.

The inspiration of meridians can thus be seen in the vertical stripes that dominate the festival's visual identity. Each one represents a different time zone, a different part of the world, another shade in cultural and cinematic history.

The BFF's visual communication was created by Kacper Krysiak of the LUCKYYOU agency. Sara Wojciechowska is responsible for translating the Key Visual into the design of the website, and Paweł Czamański for its implementation.
